Richard is a Columbia, SC native where he lives with his wife, Katie, and their four children. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Charleston Southern University and a master’s degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Currently, he’s working toward a PhD in systematic theology at the same institution.
What draws Richard to the work of a Christian study center is its ability to bring together some of life’s greatest joys: friendship, community, reading, theology, hospitality, coffee, debates, and personal growth.
In his free time, Richard enjoys spending time outdoors with friends and family, as well as investing in the life of his local church. His passion to lead The South Carolina Study Center stems from his conviction that the Christian life really is “faith seeking understanding,” and a deep confidence that truth, goodness, and beauty lead us to Jesus Christ.
