Our Story

Over a decade ago, several professors and pastors in Columbia had a vision for a Christian study center at USC. As USC grew in numbers and influence, they recognized the need for a place where students from different backgrounds could encounter, question, and explore the truths Christianity. They also wanted to create an academic community where faith and scholarship were undivided—a center that encouraged both intellectual and spiritual growth. This core group also desired to create an environment that was warm and inviting—a hub of Christian hospitality and learning. Through many struggles and set-backs, this vision was realized in 2023.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Our core mission is to promote the best of Christian thought in order to shape teachers and students to think, live, and lead with Christian wisdom.

We will accomplish this mission with three main priorities

  • Hospitality: Genuine learning thrives in an environment of relational warmth. Our space will be open on a regular basis to study, meet, and have meaningful conversations face to face.
  • Theological programs and events: On both a weekly and monthly basis, we will host classes and events that explore the riches of Scripture and the Christian tradition. Whether it is a small reading group or public lecture, we want to promote the deep and satisfying truths of the Christian worldview.
  • Resource center: We don’t exist simply to do our own ministry, but to help others. We want our location, library, and relational network to serve churches and other campus ministries.
